$3.3m seed funding round for Nigerian data and intelligence company Stears

Nigerian data and intelligence company Stears announced the close of a $3.3 million seed funding round, led by MaC Venture Capital, with participation from Serena Ventures, Melo 7 Tech Partners, Omidyar Group’s Luminate Fund and Cascador.

Stears plans to build the most valuable database on African economies and markets, by expanding its intelligence team into Kenya, South Africa, and Egypt and developing local expertise.
