Actis to close Cape Town and Nairobi offices – report
Actis, a global private equity firm, has decided to close its Nairobi and Cape Town offices, according to a report by Business Daily. The company maintains that this move will neither influence its current investments in the countries, nor impede its search for new local opportunities.
Actis said it will not renew the leases for its offices in Cape Town and Nairobi. Despite these closures, the company’s operations will continue as usual, with its Kenyan investment professionals receiving support from offices in Johannesburg, Cairo and Lagos.
“As Actis pursues its strategy in global sustainable infrastructure, we are reviewing our existing office footprint,” Sarah Douglas, director for communications and marketing at Actis told the Nairobi-based newspaper.
