All On and Energise Africa have invested $4 million in Maskh Nigeria to support solar-powered mini-grids across 19 communities in Jigawa and Bauchi States.
The investment will help provide power to households, businesses, public institutions and productive-use customers without dependable electricity access.
All On is an impact investing company seeded by Shell to support the growth of Nigeria’s off-grid energy market. Energise Africa is a UK-based direct impact investment platform that enables individual investors to finance clean energy access across sub-Saharan Africa and other emerging economies.
Commenting on the investment, Caroline Eboumbou, CEO of All On, said: “Energy access is not simply about connecting communities to electricity; it is about creating the conditions for people and businesses to thrive. This investment demonstrates All On’s commitment to backing indigenous energy companies that can deliver practical, scalable solutions to some of Nigeria’s most persistent energy access challenges. This is the kind of catalytic investment that can help move Nigeria’s energy transition forward in practical and meaningful ways.”
Ray Coyle, CEO of Energise Africa, said: “Energise Africa investors are motivated above all by the impact their money can make, and their backing for the Maskh mini-grid project reflects that. By helping to bring clean, reliable power to nineteen communities across Jigawa and Bauchi States, UK investors are supporting lasting social, economic and environmental impact that will benefit thousands of people in Nigeria. We are proud to connect that commitment to change with businesses like Maskh who are delivering it on the ground.”
Qaim Mahmood, head of renewable energy projects at Maskh Nigeria, said: “We are deeply moved to play such an instrumental role in bringing clean, reliable power to underserved communities across Jigawa and Bauchi. As an indigenous company, we are proud that these 19 mini-grids will impact almost 100,000 people, helping businesses thrive, improving essential services and creating opportunities for the next generation.”
