Alta Semper Capital has appointed Kareem Ghaly as head of MENA, based out of the firm’s regional hub in Cairo, Egypt.
Ghaly brings over 14 years of investment and advisory expertise, having executed transactions exceeding $7 billion across Egypt and the wider MENA region.
Ghaly is joining Alta Semper from British International Investment, the UK’s development finance arm, where he led the organisation’s on-ground presence in Egypt, driving activity across multiple sectors and asset classes. His career spans more than a decade in investment banking with institutions including Renaissance Capital and EFG-Hermes.
“We are thrilled to have Kareem step into this important leadership role. Based on Kareem’s successful track record of driving excellence and his long-standing relationship with Alta Semper, dating back to his work on the successful IPO of our former Egyptian portfolio company, Macro Holdings, we are looking forward to what we will achieve together,” said Afsane Jetha, Alta Semper’s managing partner and CEO.
Ghaly will start in his new role at the end of February.
