Pension and asset management divisions of K+S AG, the German chemical company, have invested in the Asc Impact Forestry Fund, which specialises in sustainable forestry.
The Asc Impact Forestry Fund focuses on reforesting mixed forests in sub-Saharan Africa, while also incorporating an agricultural component.
“As a long-term oriented company, we are keenly aware of our responsibility to future generations – both ecologically and financially,” said Thomas Gerke, board member of K+S Group’s asset trustee.
“Our family has been engaged in sustainable land and forestry management for over 300 years, and our goal is to continue taking responsibility for the next 300 years,” added Karl Kirchmayer, managing partner at Asc Impact. “We are very pleased to have K+S on board as a strong partner who shares our long-term and impact-driven approach.”
