Barka Capital has committed to a joint equity investment in Laboratoires Adeba alongside CDC-CI Capital, Côte d’Ivoire’s sovereign investment arm.
Founded by Linda Dempah, Adeba is building a premium Ivorian biocosmetics brand from West African botanicals, sourced from women smallholder farmers in Côte d’Ivoire.
“This is exactly what we are built to back: founder led, locally rooted, internationally competitive,” Barka Capital said in a statement announcing the investment.
Barka Capital, which operates from Abidjan, describes itself as an accelerator and seed impact fund.
