Beyond Capital Ventures (BCV), a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage companies in East Africa and India, has reached the first close of its Debt Opportunities Fund II.
The fund provides senior secured credit to early growth-stage companies in healthcare, financial services and mobility in Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. Loans range from $500,000 to $2.5 million.
Its predecessor, Debt Opportunities Fund I, made 15 loans across seven companies, with a 100% repayment rate and no non-performing or underperforming loans.
