BK Capital, through its BKC Africa Private Debt Fund, has made its first private debt investment in Goodlife Health and Beauty, Rwanda’s largest pharmacy chain. The financing will support Goodlife’s continued expansion and strengthen access to quality pharmaceutical products and health services nationwide.
Since opening its flagship store in October 2022, Goodlife has expanded rapidly to 16 pharmacy locations, now serving more than 100,000 customers each month. The company delivers professional pharmacy services, reliable medicines, and health and wellness products through both standalone outlets and hospital partnerships, including collaborations with the Ministry of Health, Rwanda Medical Supplies, Kibagabaga Hospital, and Legacy Clinics.
“Goodlife has quickly established one of the first world-class pharmacy chains in Rwanda,” said Théogène Uwimpuhwe, acting managing director of BK Capital. “We are pleased to provide the capital needed to fuel this industry pioneer’s next phase of growth, ultimately improving access to quality healthcare and medicines for all Rwandans.”
“Access to trusted medicines and professional pharmacy services is essential for a healthy Rwanda,” said Grant Beyers, CEO of Goodlife Health and Beauty. “This investment from the BKC Africa Private Debt Fund will enable us to scale our reach, strengthen our supply chain, and continue providing high-quality pharmaceutical services to hospitals and communities across the country.”
The investment reflects growing investor confidence in Rwanda’s growing private healthcare ecosystem and the role of private capital in expanding access to essential health services.
