Blue Earth Capital, an impact investor with over $1.5 billion in assets under management, has announced the appointment of Philipp Müller as its new CEO.
Müller will join Blue Earth Capital from BlueOrchard Finance where he served as CEO since 2020. Under his leadership, BlueOrchard grew to over $5 billion in assets under management, investing across more than 100 countries and supporting over 300 million people in emerging and frontier markets by improving access to financial and related services.
Prior to BlueOrchard, Müller was senior vice president of investment solutions at Partners Group, where he oversaw investment strategies and tailored solutions for institutional clients.
Müller will assume the CEO role in October.
Urs Wietlisbach, chairman of the board of directors of Blue Earth Capital, commented: “With Philipp Müller, Blue Earth Capital has found an excellent CEO to lead the next phase of significant growth with impact – at a time when impact investing is needed more than ever, given the societal and environmental challenges we collectively face.”
Philipp Müller, incoming CEO, added: “It is an honor to join Blue Earth Capital – a firm with a clear mission, strong values, and a proven commitment to delivering meaningful impact at scale. Its foundation-owned structure, focus on integrity, and entrepreneurial spirit create a unique platform to address some of the world’s most critical challenges. I’m grateful to the Board for their trust and look forward to working with the team to build on this strong foundation and lead the firm into its next phase of growth and impact.”
