Burkina Faso: BIO and EDFI AgriFI back agribusiness venture
BIO, the Belgian development finance institution, and EDFI AgriFI, the EU-funded agriculture financing initiative, have jointly announced their co-investment of €6 million in Gebana Faso (GFA), marking a step towards strengthening integrated and sustainable food supply chains in Burkina Faso.
Operating in Bobo Dioulasso, GFA processes and exports Fair Trade and organic cashew nuts and dried mangoes, sourcing from about 3,500 local family farmers.
The strategic investment is aimed at establishing a state-of-the-art processing facility for cashew and dried mango.
