Carlyle-backed Assala Energy reports oil production steady despite Gabon coup
Assala Energy, from which the private equity firm Carlyle decided to exit earlier this month, stated that its oil production in Gabon remains unaffected by the recent military coup in the country.
”We can confirm that all our personnel are safe, our operations continue as usual and our production is not affected,” a company spokesperson told Reuters.
Carlyle agreed to sell Assala Energy, an upstream oil exploration and production company operating in Gabon, to Etablissements Maurel & Prom SA (M&P), an oil and gas exploration and production company listed on Euronext.
