Carlyle and Ramphastos Investments have agreed to sell their stakes in Mazarine, a Tunisia-focused oil, gas, and renewable energy company, to its founder, Edward van Kersbergen.
The completion of the transaction remains subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals and other closing requirements.
Founded in 2013, Mazarine has built a solid presence in the energy sector. Over the past decade, it has completed exploration, development, production, and decommissioning projects in Tunisia and Romania. More recently, the company expanded into renewable energy with a solar project in Tunisia.
Edward van Kersbergen, founder and CEO of Mazarine Energy, commented: “This is an exciting moment for Mazarine Energy. Carlyle and Ramphastos have been incredible partners throughout our journey, helping us transform from a pure exploration company into a full-cycle energy business. This transaction further strengthens my commitment to driving the next phase of Mazarine’s growth. We have a strong foundation, an experienced management team, and an entrepreneurial culture that thrives on innovation and bold thinking. I am confident that the company is well positioned to take advantage of the growth opportunities that we see in both traditional and renewable energy markets.”
