Côte d'Ivoire: Comoé Capital signs new investor
The Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations de Côte d’Ivoire (CDC-CI), a public financial institution, has announced the acquisition of a stake in Comoé Capital, an impact investment fund in Côte d’Ivoire that provides financing and support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The investment by CDC-CI, totaling one billion CFA francs (approximately $1.6 million), will increase Comoé Capital’s ability to support Ivorian SMEs, and aligns with CDC-CI’s strategy to develop SME financing mechanisms in collaboration with the Ivorian banking and financial sectors.
According to Lassina Fofana, director general of CDC-CI, supporting SMEs is a crucial part of the organisation’s mission. The cooperation with Comoé Capital will enhance the development of SMEs, especially for young people and women, who create wealth and jobs in the country.
Meanwhile, Djibril Doumbia, managing director of Comoé Capital, has stated that the company’s objective is to financially and operationally support Ivorian entrepreneurs to become national champions. To date, Comoé Capital has supported over 20 entrepreneurs, leading to the creation and formalisation of more than 250 jobs.
