Exceptional coverage of a structre that rarely gets this kind of spotlight. The gap between traditional equity and senior debt in African SME finance is way bigger than most people realize, and mezzanine fills a specific niche that pure equity or straight loans just can't touch. I worked with mid-sized businesses in emerging markets before, and the ones that actualy scaled were the ones who could tap flexible capital at the right stage. The pan-African footprint here is ambitious but makes sense if the institutions know local regulatory terrain well enough.
