German development financier DEG has disclosed an investment of $25 million in Helios V.

German development financier DEG has disclosed an investment of $25 million in Helios V, the fifth private equity fund managed by Helios Investment Partners.
The fund provides growth capital to mid-sized companies across Africa in sectors including financial services and fintech, consumer goods, ICT, healthcare, light industry, and renewable energy.
Helios is a private equity firm that has been investing across Africa since 2004. It has raised and deployed about $2.5 billion in four funds, and today manages more than $3 billion in assets, including related co-investment pools.
As of December 2024, Helios had generated $4.3 billion in liquidity and exits.
