Insight Terra, a player in environmental risk management, has secured $5.7 million in an extended Series A funding round. The investment will support the expansion of its AI-powered platform, designed for monitoring greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and managing geotechnical risks. The round was spearheaded by E3 Capital, with additional backing from Fireball Capital, Atlantic Bridge, Globalive, and JLR Star.
Established in 2021, Insight Terra offers an edge-to-cloud data management platform that delivers real-time analytics and actionable insights on environmental risks. This empowers businesses to effectively monitor and minimise their environmental impact. The platform caters to industries requiring strict adherence to international standards and safety protocols, providing tools to monitor and reduce fugitive GHG emissions while managing geotechnical risks.
“This investment will allow us to fast-track the enhancement and growth of our platform’s capabilities, addressing the complex monitoring, reporting, and verification challenges that industries worldwide encounter,” said Alastair Bovim, co-founder and CEO of Insight Terra.
Andrew Darge, E3 Capital’s lead on the transaction, commented: “The advanced capabilities of the Insight Platform establish it as a frontrunner in addressing climate-related risks within Africa’s key industries. This investment aligns perfectly with E3’s mission to promote low-carbon solutions in emerging markets.”
Paula Mokwena, CEO of Fireball Capital, noted: “Fireball is dedicated to supporting visionary entrepreneurs tackling sustainability challenges. Insight Terra embodies this commitment by revolutionising environmental risk management.”
Kevin Dillon, managing partner at Atlantic Bridge, added: “We are pleased to further support Insight Terra in this next phase of growth, acknowledging the team’s strong potential for substantial expansion.”
