Prosus Ventures has led a $15.7 million investment round in Thndr, a digital investment platform in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, alongside The Raba Partnership, BECO Capital, JIMCO Capital, Endeavor Catalyst, and Y Combinator.
This marks Prosus’ second investment in Thndr.
Thndr is a retail brokerage platform operating in Egypt, where it facilitates trading on the Egyptian Stock Exchange. It also offers access to U.S. equities, mutual funds, gold, and savings products through a single account. The platform integrates financial education, market news, and is testing the use of AI to personalise user experience and enhance risk management.
“Our mission is to provide access to local, regional, and international investment products through one wallet and one account – making investing as seamless and inclusive as possible,” said Ahmad Hammouda, CEO of Thndr. “With only 2% of individuals in MENA investing, we believe the time is now to build the region’s leading investment-first money app – a platform that helps people build wealth, make confident decisions, and live life on their own terms.”
