1. DPI and Verod invest in Nigeria’s Pan African Towers
Pan African Towers (PAT), a digital infrastructure company based in Nigeria, has announced a strategic investment from Development Partners International and Verod Capital.
Established in Nigeria in 2017 to capitalise on the growing demand for wireless communications across Africa, PAT has emerged as a prominent telecommunications and tower infrastructure provider in Nigeria. Since founding, PAT has built a successful business model centred around establishing tailored, long-term contracts with blue-chip customers, including Nigeria’s leading mobile network operators and internet service providers. 2. Nigeria: Goodwell invests in OmniRetail
Goodwell Investments has made an investment in Nigeria-based OmniRetail, a B2B e-commerce platform digitising sub-Saharan Africa’s informal supply chain. Working in collaboration with long-term partner Alitheia Capital, Goodwell invested via its uMunthu II fund, effectively kickstarting OmniRetail’s Series A fundraising round.
Founded in 2019, OmniRetail provides the necessary digital infrastructure to tackle some of the most pressing challenges within Africa’s commerce value chain, particularly by addressing the needs of informal retailers. This often-overlooked group constitutes the backbone of commerce across sub-Saharan Africa, contributing significantly to the region’s GDP and providing livelihoods to millions of individuals. 3. Mirepa Investment Advisors in Ghana agritech deal
Mirepa Investment Advisors, through its Mirepa Capital SME Fund I, has announced an investment in Wami Agro, an agritech company based in Ghana.
Wami Agro provides farmers with access to finance and guaranteed market access. The company also offers capacity-building programmes, including information, education, and farm input recommendations to improve yields. Read the full article
4. Aruwa Capital and Newtown Partners in Nigerian healthcare deal
MDaaS Global, a healthtech company and operator of Nigeria’s fastest-growing healthcare network – BeaconHealth Diagnostics – has raised a $3 million Pre-Series A round of financing. The round was co-led by Aruwa Capital Management and follow-on investor Newtown Partners. It also landed additional follow-on investment from Ventures Platform, one of the company’s earliest institutional investors.
This new round of financing brings MDaaS Global’s total investment to date to $6.8 million. Read the full article
5. Injaro Capital’s Cape Verde subsidiary invests in poultry business
Investment Capital Partners, a subsidiary of Injaro Investments, has announced the successful completion of its second investment in Cabo Verde through the Pro Impacto Fund. The investment was made in AGRA, a poultry and animal feed producer founded in 2019 by a local entrepreneur with extensive industry experience.
AGRA aims to become the leading supplier of fresh eggs and animal feed in the country. Read the full article
