Sahara Impact Ventures has made an investment in Wahu Mobility, an e-mobility company headquartered in Ghana.
Wahu started out converting conventional bicycles into electric models before expanding into a broader mobility business. It now designs and assembles electric bikes for African road conditions and offers leasing options aimed at helping companies shift from petrol-powered fleets to electric ones.
“At Sahara Impact Ventures, we invest in early-stage ventures solving systemic challenges, and Wahu exemplifies that mission. With urban congestion, rising fuel costs, and transport emissions projected to triple by 2050, the need for efficient alternatives has never been greater. Wahu’s model integrates local manufacturing, fleet management technology, and rider support, offering a smart, seamless solution for both individuals and enterprises,” the firm said in a statement.
