The IFC has disclosed that it is considering an equity investment of $30 million in African Rivers Fund IV (ARF IV), managed by XSML Capital.
The fund, which has a target of $135 million, will make investments in Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and Zambia, with the possibility of additional investments in Kenya, Mozambique, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
ARF IV’s investment objective is to provide long-term financing to SMEs through self-liquidating instruments, including straight debt, debt with revenue-sharing, and debt with equity.
