IFC considering investment in Metier fund
The IFC has disclosed a proposed equity investment of up to $25 million, alongside a co-investment envelope of up to $15 million, in the Metier Capital Growth Fund III (MCGF III).
MCGF III is a growth equity fund seeking to make investments in sub-Saharan Africa with a specific focus on East and Southern Africa. It aims to raise up to $250 million.
The fund will be managed by Metier Private Equity International, a private limited liability company incorporated in Mauritius. The fund manager is ultimately beneficially owned by the three co-founders: Paul Botha (25.99%), Thierry Dalais (25.99%), Anthony Hewat (12.99%) and Metier’s senior management team (35.03%).
