IFC proposes investment in Alterra fund
The IFC has proposed an equity investment of $20 million in the Alterra Africa Accelerator Fund, a Mauritian limited partnership.
The fund has a target size of $400 million and will be managed by Alterra Capital Partners as its investment manager. Alterra is co-led by Bryce Fort, Paul Maasdorp, Genevieve Sangudi, Eric Kump and Bruce Steen.
Alterra will invest in companies active in the following sectors: telecommunications, technology, financial services, consumer products and services, and infrastructure and logistics.
The manager has offices in Kenya and South Africa.
