IFC proposes investment in Ventures Platform Fund IV
The IFC has disclosed an equity investment of up to $5 million into Ventures Platform Fund IV, an African seed fund that is raising $30 million to make early-stage investments, primarily in Nigeria and the rest of Africa.
The fund is focused on making early-stage investments (pre-seed to series A) in tech and tech-enabled startups targeting the mass market in Africa, and had a first close of $14.9 million in December 2021.
Ventures Platform Fund IV will be managed by Ventures Platform IV GP Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of Guernsey.
