Investment Capital Partners (ICP), a subsidiary of Injaro Investments, has announced the successful completion of its second investment in Cabo Verde through the Pro Impacto Fund. The investment was made in AGRA, a poultry and animal feed producer founded in 2019 by a local entrepreneur with extensive industry experience. AGRA aims to become the leading supplier of fresh eggs and animal feed in the country.
Aguinaldo do Rosário, founder and CEO of AGRA, stated: "We are really pleased and excited with the completion of this investment partnership, as it will allow us to finance our expansion plans, increasing our production capacity and enhancing the quality of our output, whilst creating new jobs for women and children. We will be able to strengthen the offer in the local market and contribute to reduced imports. Injaro’s vast investment experience in our industry and solid track record of creating value for SMEs, will be paramount for our mid to long term success, as it will open a wide range of new possibilities, that can help solidify our presence in the country going forward."
"This investment will provide the necessary capital for AGRA to modernise its operations and increase its productive capacity, whist improving profitability in an environmental conscious and cost-effective manner. This transaction is fully aligned with our investment strategy, focused on sector diversification and providing SMEs in Cabo Verde with long-term capital and operational support, to build up resilience and enable expansion," commented João Carlos Silva, country manager of ICP.
Jerry Parkes, CEO of Injaro Investments added, "The completion of this investment transaction by Pro Impacto embodies the shared vision that underlies the creation of the fund, a partnership between the Government of Cabo Verde, via Pro Capital, USAID and Injaro Investments designed to channel much needed capital to deserving SMEs in Cabo Verde. We are delighted to support the growth journey of another Caboverdian business and look forward to supporting even more SMEs in the near future."
