Kenyan agritech platform Shamba Pride has secured $3.7 million in funding from EDFI AgriFI - the Agriculture Financing Initiative and a follow-on investment from Seedstars Africa Ventures.
Shamba Pride solves the supply chain between input manufactures, agri-retailers and farmers through an online to offline commerce platform. This removes the need for many intermediaries, significantly lowering the cost of farming to farmers while solving decade long price exploitation, quality and information access challenges.
With the new funding, Shamba Pride team plans to extend the network of agro-dealers across the regions, bringing agritech solutions to more smallholder farmers.
