Nedbank Private Equity (NPE), together with a co-investor, has concluded the exit of Marltons Pet Care, a South African pet care brand.
NPE acquired the business in 2019. The investment involved carving Marltons out from a division of a listed company and establishing it as a standalone platform.
The business has been sold to Montego Pet Nutrition, a South African pet food manufacturer.
“This investment shows the strength of true private equity stewardship. We transformed a heritage brand into a focused strategic platform and delivered an exit that positions the business for long-term success. It reflects the discipline and depth of expertise across Nedbank CIB’s Private Equity division,” said Elie Issa, principal private equity, Nedbank CIB.
“Guiding Marltons through a full cycle journey required hands-on partnership, resilience and strategic clarity. The outcome speaks to our ability to unlock value in complex environments and reinforces Nedbank CIB’s Private Equity division as a trusted partner for businesses across Africa,” said Amir Regev, principal private equity, Nedbank CIB.
