Rana Energy, a Nigeria-based AI-powered clean energy-as-a-service ecosystem, announced the close of its $3 million pre-seed funding round.
The round comprises $500,000 in equity from Techstars, EchoVC Eco, and angel investors, alongside a $2.5 million local currency green debt note arranged by Optimum Global and backed by FSDH Asset Management.
Rana Energy operates what it calls a “virtual solar network” – a digital platform that connects and manages solar and battery systems across multiple sites. Using software that forecasts energy demand and optimises performance, the company aggregates these distributed assets into investable portfolios. For businesses and communities, Rana offers clean-energy subscriptions with no upfront costs, providing access to reliable solar power that reduces dependence on diesel and delivers immediate savings.
“Rana represents everything we look for in climate infrastructure: exceptional founders solving a massive problem with breakthrough technology and innovative financing,” said Eghosa Omoigui, managing partner, EchoVC Eco.
