Nigerian payments platform Pouchers has raised $500,000 in pre-seed funding led by Stack Directory, a Dubai-based internet investment company.
The round also included participation from strategic angel investors.
Pouchers is a platform for people and businesses that earn, spend and move money across borders. Its offerings include stablecoin-powered payments, virtual dollar cards, and transfers between global and local currencies.
“This raise gives us the opportunity to move faster on a problem we know many Nigerians experience first-hand. People are already working, earning and doing business globally. The financial infrastructure should make that easier, not harder,” said Ayo Adewuyi, chief executive officer of Pouchers.
