Palladium and Bamboo deepen relationship to bolster fundraising capabilities
Palladium has signed an exclusive agreement with its asset management arm, Bamboo Capital Partners, to act as placement agent of Bamboo’s funds. It has also appointed impact investment veteran Florian Kemmerich to lead its fund placement team.
Kemmerich remains in his role as managing partner at Bamboo where he has been since 2016, focused primarily on marketing and investor relations. Since its inception in 2007, Bamboo has raised $450 million and invested in over 30 developing countries.
Kemmerich’s additional role at Palladium will not only boost Palladium’s fund placement activity, but also support the distribution of Bamboo’s funds by leveraging Palladium’s existing platform.
For almost 60 years, Palladium has been working with its partners and clients to mobilise capital and implement projects that have lasting positive social, environmental and economic impact. Palladium operates in over 90 countries.
Palladium offers a range of capital advisory services, which include fund placement. Given the importance of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and an increasing supply of investment strategies that target them, Palladium recognises a growing need to bring investors and impactful investees together. Fund structures, and similar investment vehicles, have an important role to play and Palladium has a strong track record as a designer and distributor of such strategies. With this move, it is looking to bring increased focus on the distribution activity.
Jose Maria Ortiz, managing director at Palladium says, “We are very excited that Florian Kemmerich will support our fund placement activity. His knowledge and experience of both impact capital raising and how to build partnerships means he is uniquely placed to drive real positive change on the ground.”
Kemmerich says, “I am very much looking forward to heading up Palladium’s fund placement team and to further grow that business to accelerate the deployment of capital towards the Sustainable Development Goals.”
“This move is a natural progression as Bamboo has acted as Palladium’s asset management arm since 2020. Our impact investments have made a difference to ordinary people’s lives in the least developed countries but there are many challenges ahead. To attract more private capital, we are further strengthening our ties with our partners and investors – and Palladium’s expertise and reach will enable us to accelerate this mission.”
