PwC South Africa’s Transaction Services team supported Infra Impact Fund Managers by conducting financial and tax due diligence and offering indicative valuation services in respect of their investment in the South African and Mauritian operations of Green Create.
"Leveraging our cross-functional expertise and deep industry insight, we helped Infra Impact Fund Managers unlock strategic value and deliver long-term sustainability impact," PwC said in a statement.
Green Create’s facilities process millions of litres of effluent wastewater and thousands of tonnes of agricultural waste each year. Its operations ease pressure on municipal water treatment systems, cut landfill volumes and produce biogas that can substitute fossil fuels in industrial use.
The company operates three anaerobic digestion plants: in Worcester and Rustenburg, South Africa, and in Mauritius. The Worcester and Mauritius sites treat effluent from poultry and tuna processing plants respectively, while the Rustenburg facility processes poultry manure and sludge waste from poultry operations.
Together, the plants produce biogas, electricity, thermal energy and clean water, while also recovering nutrients for fertiliser. Located close to industrial clients, the facilities run under long-term offtake agreements.
