The Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA) recently launched the 2023 edition of its annual SAVCA Private Equity Industry Survey. The 2023 PE Survey is now publicly available and can be downloaded here.
The launch, jointly hosted with its research partner, EY at their Johannesburg head office, provided an opportunity to take attendees through an overview of the macro-economic outlook, which was presented by Angelika Goliger, EY Chief Economist for Africa.
In a panel discussion, several survey respondents shared their first-hand experiences. They included Madichaba Nhlumayo, the founding CEO of Ditiro Capital; Mitesh Pema, the executive director and fund principal of Mahlako; and Florent de Boissieu, a partner at Adenia. The topics discussed ranged from raising capital, value creation, to investing for impact.
