Cairo-based venture capital firm Sawari Ventures has announced a new partnership with French investment bank Bpifrance.
The first phase of this partnership will focus on supporting and strengthening growth stage companies and entrepreneurs, aiming to scale from France to the Middle East and Africa, and vice versa.
The partnership also includes venture capital firm Flat6Labs, which, together with Sawari Ventures, are building a platform that covers a broad spectrum of stage financing – from seed to Series B+ – bridging the gap between North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa, supporting the expansion of companies in both regions.
Flat6Labs is co-founded by Hany Al-Sonbaty, managing partner of Sawari Ventures.
“Our partnership with Bpifrance reflects our shared commitment to strengthening links between Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Today, we can see more and more entrepreneurs from these regions launching their companies with pan-African and cross-regional ambitions, but lack the tools and networks to scale effectively. We are building a platform that can identify them and support them in their expansion, capitalising on major partnerships with like-minded institutions like Bpifrance,” says Al-Sonbaty.
