South Africa: Infra Impact Mid-Market Infrastructure Fund 1 reaches first close
Infra Impact Investment Managers, the specialist infrastructure investment firm, has reached the ZAR 250 million (about $17 million) first close target of its maiden institutional fund, the Infra Impact Mid-Market Infrastructure Fund 1. The fund is seeking to raise total capital commitments of ZAR 1.5 billion (about 102.5 million).
The fund aims to provide growth capital for South African focused mid-market infrastructure businesses, which own real assets that provide essential services and that have value creation potential. The fund will be deployed in line with the team’s historically successful mid-market, value-add infrastructure strategy, in the water, waste, energy, telecommunications, and related sectors.
Co-founders of Infra Impact, Mark van Wyk and Morné Edas said, “We are proud of achieving our first close in a challenging environment against a backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic. We believe that our fund investments will allow entrepreneurs to contribute to creating sustainable economic growth and job creation.”
