Maia Capital Partners has closed its inaugural Debt Impact Fund, raising over R1 billion (c. $54 million) from South African pension funds.
The company said in a statement: “Since our founding in June 2020, we’ve brought together a team with 30+ years of experience in private equity, infrastructure, and impact investing. Our mission is to generate competitive returns while making a positive social and environmental impact. With the Debt Impact Fund I, which reached its final close at over R1 billion (up from R400 million in its first close), we’re set to transform the economy.”
“This milestone reflects the growing demand for investments that blend financial returns with meaningful impact,” said CEO, Tshandu Ramusetheli.
