Old Mutual Alternative Investments has announced its exit from South Africa’s BASA Schools.
The investment was made through the Schools and Education Investment Impact Fund of South Africa (SEIIFSA) in 2012, making it the fund’s first 100% black-owned partnership.
SEIIFSA invested R60 million (approximately $3.4 million) to expand and upgrade BASA’s facilities. This included the renovation of BASA Protea Glen Primary School and the development of BASA Protea Glen Combined School, increasing capacity to 2,860 learners.
