South African township e-commerce platform raises funding
Yebo Fresh, the South African grocery delivery service, has secured a R78 million ($4.5 million) pre-series A equity investment and a grant from the Jobs Fund.
The investment was led by Enza Capital, with participation from Elea Foundation and Harvest Fund, along with re-investments from current investors, including E4EAFrica.
The funding will allow Yebo Fresh to expand its operations and attract new talent, as it continues to provide fresh groceries and food to townships.
CEO Jessica Boonstra stated that the funding will allow the company to ”grow into new product categories, expand our systems and warehousing infrastructure, and explore further partnership opportunities”.
