SPE-backed BPO company acquires Tunisian call centre operator
Outsourcia, an independent Moroccan customer experience, business process and medical outsourcing provider, founded by Youssef Chraibi, announced the completion of the acquisition of PhoneAct, one of the Tunisian leaders in call centres created in 2006.
The transaction was carried out following the entry in the capital of Outsourcia of an investment fund managed by SPE Capital, and was partially financed through a share swap, allowing Mehdi Ayed, founder of PhoneAct, to become a reference shareholder in Outsourcia and to participate alongside the management team, in the emergence of an independent North African group in the sector.
Through the acquisition of PhoneAct, which employs 900 people in Tunis, Outsourcia is diversifying its offering with the addition of a strategic nearshore destination in an increasingly competitive sector undergoing strong consolidation.
Outsourcia employs 3,400 staff across five countries (Morocco, France, Madagascar, Niger and Tunisia) with a consolidated turnover of 442 million dirham (€41 million).
Tarek Lababidi, principal at SPE Capital said, ”We are delighted to participate in what represents a strategic project for Outsourcia, financed by the capital increase announced last May. This partnership with one of the leaders in the sector will give a new dimension to the group allowing it to offer an even more comprehensive and competitive service to existing and future clients.”
