Swedfund appoints new investment head
Marie Aglert has been appointed as the new investment manager at Swedfund, Sweden’s development finance institution specialising in sustainable investments in developing countries.
Previously at the Swedish Export Credit Agency (EKN) as director for large corporates, Aglert brings with her a wealth of experience in risk assessment and financing projects in emerging markets.
Upon her appointment, Swedfund’s CEO, Maria Håkansson, stated, “Marie is a senior leader with extensive experience in international business and financing in emerging markets. This, together with her leadership and experience of developing organisations, will be important in the work of continuing to grow and develop Swedfund’s investment operations and our important mission to contribute to reduced poverty through sustainable investments.”
Aglert said, “I want to contribute by supporting the investment organisation, managing the risk, finding new sustainable investment opportunities, and developing new collaborations. As a development financier, Swedfund will play a key role in ensuring that we meet the sustainability goals in Agenda 2030. We need further investment in sustainable companies in the poorest countries, not least in climate-friendly solutions.”
Aglert will assume her role at Swedfund starting from the 1st of August 2023.
