Tofino Capital invests in Egyptian healthtech company
Tofino Capital, an early stage investor in frontier market technology companies, announced its investment in Nice Deer, an Egyptian health techstartup that is revolutionising how health clinics manage patient outcomes and payment systems.
Tofino said in a statement, ”The rise of non-communicable diseases in Egypt and the broader North African region has created a need for innovative solutions to address gaps in the national healthcare system. The Egyptian government is focused on enhancing their health care system by rolling out a national health insurance scheme, and Nice Deer’s use of mobile technology and AI-powered insurance is helping to meet this need by streamlining clinic operations and improving the overall patient experience.
”The growth of Egypt’s venture ecosystem, coupled with its young population and expanding middle class, has created a ripe environment for startups like Nice Deer to thrive. Through this investment, our fund is supporting Nice Deer’s mission to transform the healthcare landscape in Egypt and provide high-quality, affordable care to all.”
