Tunisia: Water-tech company raises $3.5m

Tunisia-based water-tech startup Kumulus Water, which turns air into safe drinking water, has closed a $3.5 million seed funding round.
The round saw participation from Bpifrance, PlusVC, Khalys Venture, Flat6Labs, several European and North African family offices, and European bottled water leader Spadel. The new funds will support the launch of the Kumulus Boks line – high-capacity, off-grid water units designed for industrial and community use.
Founded in 2021 by Iheb Triki and Mohamed Ali Abid, Kumulus Water builds self-contained atmospheric water generators that operate without existing water or electricity infrastructure. The company has already deployed units in schools, hotels, and remote communities across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, offering a climate-resilient solution to global water scarcity.
