Hivos-Triodos Fonds has provided a €1 million loan to agri-fintech company Apollo Agriculture to support smallholder farmers in Zambia. This investment aims to enhance the profitability of these farmers through optimised financing, quality farm products, expert digital advice and risk management solutions such as crop insurance.
Judith Santbergen, fund manager of Hivos-Triodos Fonds, said: “Our partnership with Apollo Agriculture represents a vital and sustainable investment in Zambia's agricultural future, enabling smallholder farmers to access the resources they need to thrive and adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.”
Apollo Agriculture focuses on transforming small-scale farming in Zambia, particularly in the maize and soya value chains.
