AfricInvest has made an investment in The British University in Egypt to fuel its next phase of expansion and transformation. The investment, one of the largest foreign direct investments in Egypt’s education sector to date, was made through a capital increase. Read the full article
3. Old Mutual Private Equity buys stake in Honoris; Actis exits
Old Mutual Private Equity, a unit of Old Mutual Alternative Investments, has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Honoris United Universities, the pan-African private higher education group. The deal sees Actis exit its investment in the company. Read the full article
4. Knife Capital invests in South Africa’s Sticitt
Knife Capital, through its KNF II fund, has made a Series A investment in Sticitt. The fintech startup transforms the way South African schools manage money, currently serving 841 schools, supporting over 75,700 users, and having processed R6.3 billion (about $359.8 million) in transactions. 5. TLG Capital in Kenyan education deal
TLG Capital, a private credit fund focused on investing in sub-Saharan Africa, has partnered with the Development Bank of Kenya to close a $6.5 million investment into Kenya-based Ark Junior School and Playstreet Kindergarten, collectively known as the Ark Group. Read the full article
